Some Words from Mountain Dave

In response to an email from Mike...

Hey Mike,

Yeah, well said, it is very much like a "huge hole has been carved out of the middle of my being". It's now pretty much becoming a reality that i'm dealing w/, as much as i wish it weren't so. And yes, you're right, he was probably looking at his body in wonderment as the revival process was underway. I wish i knew w/ certainty that the samadic/transcendental states that i experienced during my period of transcendence (insanity, as some of you may remember it to be) was freely and openly available to all at our passing from this realm of being. I like to believe it is; but i don't know that to be so. Not to say that i know those states to be the ultimate states available to us, but there's no doubt that i experienced bliss for quite some time, and that if i knew that death was that good or better then i would not in the least feel remorse for anyone who could obtain that upon departure from this hectic world of confusion and mistrust. Anyhow, i keep thinking good thoughts of our good friend and hoping that those thoughts will direct him towards and into a greater place to be than is the world of samsara from which he has recently departed.

Those were some great days, with some great friends, hanging out in the splendor of Chu Tzu Hu. I never knew Pat, tho i have heard of him from our friends. Nor do i know if his passing was expected or untimely. Michael was a good friend, and i was in fairly regular communication w/ him after i left the rock, but Mike had spoken of leaving the planet and suicide for many years, so his departure was not that much of a surprise to me. What was a surprise was the loss of Eric, who lived/loved life w/ a passion that just makes it seem so fucking unfair that he should be taken from us at such an early age, and in otherwise such great physical condition. But, as his dad put it to me, "Eric was just unfortunate to have received his mother's side of the family's predisposition to heart failure". Fuck!

Eric was a great friend to many of us, and i know that he will be missed by all of us who loved him, and who he loved.

Love,
Dave

Well I may be in the minority here; but I totally, unequivocally and repletely believe in the concepts of human spirit and soul, and therefore the idea that there is a spirit within us that goes on beyond life is very simple and fundamental for me to understand.
